The STOTT PILATES Folding Mat is one of the packable items reviewed by National Ballet of Canada Dancers for Pointe Magazines (August/September) Road Test feature.
August's issue of Horse Illustrated Magazine features an article entitled "Exercise Your Options". Moira Merrithew discusses how pilates can benefit the equestrian set.
STOTT was consulted for an article comparing pilates with other forms of mind-body exercise. It is slated to appear in an upcoming issue of Prevention Magazine.

OBLIQUES ROLL BACK find photos below
STARTING POSITION
Sit as tall as possible. Legs hip-distance apart, knees slightly bent, feet flat on mat. Arms lifted, shoulder height, in front of body.
EXERCISE
To prepare, inhale
EXHALE
Roll hips away from front of legs and round lower back, keeping abdominals flat and without actually resting lower back on mat. Simultaneously, rotate upper torso and sweep arm down and back.
INHALE
Maintain flat abdominal as spine rotates back to starting position.
Repeat on other side.
Complete 3-5 repetitions in each direction.
FOCUS:
-- Keep feeling of opening front of hip.
-- Avoid lifting shoulders or creating neck tension.
-- Keep feet flat as possible on mat.
MODIFICATION
Add lower-body resistance by placing the Fitness Circle between knees. Hands behind head or as for regular exercise. Squeeze ring during roll back. Release ring as torso returns upright.
