Web Developer

Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology, the Web Developer is responsible for managing content on a large corporate website. This includes but is not limited to creating static and dynamic web pages, timely updates to information, making sure links are functional and the website is user-friendly.

This is a 6 month contract with the possibility for renewal.

The ideal candidate will have

display proven technical abilities
attentive to detail
possess a well-developed aesthetic sensibility
understanding of visual communication.

Major responsibilities include:

Create and maintain web pages based on direction from the Marketing, Design and IT Department
Ensure information is updated in a timely manner
Employ strategic web optimization
Follow through with requests
Document projects and provide status & summary reports
Act as a technical resource
Collaborate with interdepartmental staff
Involvement in executing e-marketing strategies

Essential skills & abilities:

Adobe GoLive

Flash

Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Illustrator

HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS

Javascript

2 to 3 years of experience in Web development working with Mac and PC platforms, managing website content, executing e-marketing strategies, streaming audio and video, and web optimization.
