IT Support Technician

Position Overview

This entry-level IT position is a great opportunity for an IT Support Technician looking to grow and be part of a progressive team.  Reporting to the IT Specialist, the IT Support Technician will be responsible for the following key responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting hardware & software matters pertaining to 100 end users & network systems
  • End user orientation & training
  • Maintaining records, ALCs, and adhering with security practices
  • Working on projects with senior IT Specialist and Director of IT
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an understanding of  Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes
  • Possesses solid understanding of design and analysis methodology and application development processes

  • Exhibits solid knowledge of databases
  • Exhibits solid analytical ability for complex problem solving
  • Possesses solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is able to handle multiple priorities, an aptitude for troubleshooting in person, over the phone and over the WAN
  • Deploying, maintaining, and configuring, workstations, laptops, printers & peripheral equipment
  • Resolving computer and network issues while ensuring system/data integrity is maintained

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Secondary school graduate and completion of Computer Science and Information Technology diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of Exchange Server Software, Microsoft Access, SQL Server
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines and other administrative requirements
  • Ability to learn program features quickly and often in a self-directed format

  • Ability to offer timely solutions to employees/managers regarding a variety of software and hardware difficulties and to toubleshoot problems in a manner that is most helpful to the end user
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of wireless solutions on iphone and BlackBerry
  • Knowledge of Windows server and Windows desktop operating systems.
  • Additional knowledge an asset: Accpac version 5.4 or higher, Filemaker, Crystal Reports
