Director of Sales & Marketing, Commercial

Position Overview:

The overall mandate for the Director of Sales & Marketing, Commercial will be to grow sales product and revenue through planning, directing, coordinating developing and controlling the sales activities and sales team and supporting the promotional and marketing efforts within the company’s Commercial Sales Division.

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the execution and achievement of the company’s short and long range commercial sales business plan.
  • Focus on maximizing sales to existing clients and driving growth with new business, while ensuring market penetration of both domestic and international markets.
  • Identify, develop, implement and monitor action steps, including establishing objectives and challenging individual/group measurable goals, to increase both commercial sales and customer service levels.
  • Manage and plan Sales Programs for Trade Shows and collaboratively work with Events Management team.
  • Develop, execute and manage the company’s customer service policies.
  • Collaboratively develop innovative and cost effective marketing programs to support our global business of Commercial and Full Solutions Divisions.
  • Ensure that MarCom and branding programs are adhered to within the trade.
  • Oversee execution and monitoring of freight policies, service and costs.
  • Plan, assign and direct the work of the commercial sales representatives.
  • Identify, develop and implement sales and skills training based on the Commercial Sales group needs.
  • Monitor and follow up on Commercial Sales Representatives/group performance results.
  • Complete Commercial Sales Representative performance reviews and recommend rewards.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of the Commercial Sales team budget.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of sales coaching and mentoring experience in proactive inside and outside sales environment.
  • Past sales management success within a business model involving B2B and Distributors, Dealers on both a North American and International basis.
  • Experienced with the integration and management of CRM within daily sales activities to manage growth, opportunities and reporting. SAGE CRM is the new system being used, but direct experience with this specific software is not mandatory.
  • Relevant background involving successful funnel and leads management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and achieve challenging company, department and individual sales goals and objectives.
  • Experience with developing and executing Marketing programs and materials for a wide range of customer segments.
  • Very hands-on using a highly visible and motivational approach.
  • Experience interacting with customers in a sales environment that involves cold-calling, warm-calling, trade show interaction, demand creation and/or account management
  • Project enthusiasm and a genuine passion for helping people achieve success.
  • Ability to train, motivate and manage a sales team to achieve expected results.
  • Open-minded person who freely shares ideas and is comfortable in a collaborative and inclusive entrepreneurial environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong relationship and team building abilities.
  • Experience within the fitness industry is an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office, Power Point, Excel
  • University degree in Business / Commerce or related field
