For over 25 years people from around the globe have come to train at our mid-town Toronro Studio. As a world leader in mindful-movement we give clients access to the industry’s best instructors and the latest in mind-body exercise.

Our programs are designed to sculpt, strengthen and balance your body while de-stressing and focusing your mind regardless of age or ability.

We offer more than 60 small-sized group classes weekly in all of Merrithew’s fitness programs: STOTT PILATES, ZEN•GA®, CORE™ Athletic Conditioning & Performance Training™ and Total Barre™ as well as personal protocols for all populations (active, injured, pre/postnatal, professional athletes, aging or young adult).


STOTT PILATES ESSENTIAL REPERTOIRE

ESSENTIAL MATWORK I

Ground yourself in the essentials of STOTT PILATES, mastering proper technique to reap the benefits of group classes. The next step for beginners, this class is also suitable for those who've been inactive or coming off of an injury. This series helps participants develop true core strength and stability while heightening mind-body awareness. Props add variety and build familiarity for more challenging classes

 

MATWORK CONDITIONING I

In order to be ready for the next level, the body needs strength conditioning for the more challenging repertoire. Matwork Conditioning I focuses on improving deep core strength, endurance and control. Exercises are selected to challenge mobility and stabilization through the core and peripheral muscles while adding flexibility and suppleness to your body. Resistance props are incorporated to add variety and familiarity.

ESSENTIAL REFORMER I

Continue to ground yourself in the essentials of the STOTT PILATES Reformer, mastering the proper technique required to build core strength, stability and mind-body awareness. Essential Reformer seeks to build comfort with taking cues from the Reformer repertoire to target the abdominals, glutes, arms and quads. This low-intensity class is perfect for those who have just started Pilates or haven't been active.

REFORMER CONDITIONING I

Reformer Conditioning continues to build on endurance and core strength while improving the body's stamina and agility. Exercises are chosen to activate and mobilize the joints. This powerful class ensures you're on your way to having a strong and streamlined body as you continue to strengthen and stabilize the hips, knees, and ankles.

REFORMER FOR ACTIVE AGING (ALL LEVELS)

Created for clients 50 years+ who lead active lifestyles and are looking for a workout that is safe and effective, good for the heart but gentle on the joints. Harnessing the resistance of the reformer, each class engages the entire body focusing on muscle tone and endurance, balance and functional strength. This challenging and energizing workout is ideal for anyone who is looking for a medium intensity workout to support them in their active lifestyle. Remember, age is just a number – this class is great for all clients!

REFORMER WAKE UP (ALL LEVELS)

Start your weekend off right with this new Reformer class focusing on mobilizing the body while lengthening and strengthening the muscles after a long week. This class is open to Level I clients who have finished their 2-Week Trials, and Level II clients looking to expand repertoire and progress through the STOTT PILATES method. A variety of small props and accessories are used for challenge and variety.

 

STOTT PILATES ESSENTIAL-INTERMEDIATE REPERTOIRE

MATWORK POWER & FLOW II

This class amps up the intensity focusing on improving the power and stability of your arms, legs, shoulders, hips, and core. We focus on preventing injury while improving precision, control and agility. Power & Flow II also improves coordination as it retrains muscles that may have become imbalanced over time. The inclusion of light weights helps to condition the entire body from head to toe and the constant flowing movement enhances core stamina. This class is ideal for those wanting to keep moving!

 

MATWORK SCULPT & TONE II

Work up a sweat while sculpting and toning arms, buns and abs! Using bodyweight along with the BOSU™, Toning Balls™ and other resistance apparatus, this intense and dynamic Matwork class incorporates squats, lunges, and other conditioning exercises that will have you working hard, but smart, and seeing results! Suitable for clients who have mastered the Group Matwork Essential repertoire and are able to respond quickly and fluidly to cues.

REFORMER POWER & FLOW II

Continue to bring a sense of flow to your Reformer routine while adding power to your workout. Improve technique and proper breathing while mastering flowing sequences designed to increase total body strength and control. This powerful class ensures you’re on your way to having a powerful and streamlined body with a focused and calm mind.

REFORMER SCULPT & TONE II

Add vigor and variety to your workout while developing deep muscular strength, flexibility and endurance. In this medium-to-high intensity class, small props are incorporated to sculpt arms, legs, back and torso with precision-driven exercises that yield results. This class gets your heart rate up and ensures your whole body stays fit and firm.

REFORMER CONDITIONING II

Reformer Conditioning II is a medium-to-high intensity class perfect for those transitioning from the Essential-Level Reformer Classes. This program continues to build on endurance and core strength while improving stamina and agility. Exercises seek to activate the muscles and mobilize the joints. Clients become comfortable with the Intermediate repertoire while continuing to strengthen and stabilize the hips, knees and ankles.

STABILITY CHAIR CHALLENGE II

An athletic-intensity class suitable for active clients with a strong foundation in Pilates. Stability Chair Challenge II takes you through a dynamic, full-body workout focusing on stability and muscle tone. High-tension springs and longer reps target the upper and lower body, challenge the core and elevate the heart rate. Programming stays fresh as a variety of repertoire and props add complexity

 

STOTT PILATES INTERMEDIATE REPERTOIRE

DYNAMIC ENDURANCE MAT III

Improve body awareness while challenging strength and endurance! This is a total body workout designed to build endurance, enhance flexibility and strengthen and tone using carefully selected exercises to help stretch and lengthen the body. This series focuses on fluidity, endurance and strong transitions. Dynamic Endurance Mat III is suitable for strong and experienced clients looking to challenge themselves with an Intermediate repertoire.

ULTIMATE BODY SCULPTING ON THE MAT III

Sculpt your entire body with this intermediate level workout that will enhance your endurance, strength and stamina. Perfect for intermediate to advanced audiences, you'll elongate and tone muscles without building bulk in this energizing routine that isolates and activates your core muscles while conditioning work builds the strength needed to tackle more advanced repertoire.

DYNAMIC ENDURANCE REFORMER III

A total body workout designed to build endurance, enhance flexibility and tone using carefully selected exercises to help stretch, strengthen and lengthen the body. The repertoire is straightforward but high intensity to ensure your body is working and conditioning to its prime. This class is suitable for those with a strong foundation in Essential-Intermediate classes but are ready to join the big leagues. The third Tuesday of every month incorporates the Jumpboard.

REFORMER SCULPT & TONE III

Take your body to new heights in this challenging fast-paced streamlined and flowing class, sculpting and toning the body from the inside out. The entire body is tested in each class as we target specific "problem" areas to ensure our bodies are developed systematically. For experienced clients with a confident understanding of the Reformer and their own personal settings and modifications.

 

STOTT PILATES INTERMEDIATE-ADVANCED REPERTOIRE

ULTIMATE REFORMER CHALLENGE IV

This no-nonsense Reformer Class is fit for the pros! A non-stop high-intensity class designed to keep your body in motion with minimal rest between exercises, targeting more than one muscle group at a time means you'll see tighter tummies, lifted bottoms and longer, leaner muscles. Ultimate Reformer Challenge systematically challenges and fatigues the body for optimal results; this class seeks to build strength in support of muscle tone, fat loss and postural support.

 
 

ZEN•GA™ PROGRAM

ZEN•GA FLOWING SEQUENCES (ALL LEVELS)

Not all exercise needs to be explosive and leave you in a pool of sweat. Think of this class like wringing out your body like a washcloth – pumping all the blood and lymph to their tissues and getting oxygen and nutrients into your blood and muscles. A moving meditation that incorporates elements of Pilates, yoga and tai chi, this class increases circulation, stimulates the central nervous system, and improves flexibility all while strengthening the mind-body connection.

 

ZEN•GA POWER & STRENGTH II

Energize both your body and mind with this fluid but powerful class and see how the ZEN?GA method brings strength & control to the body and peace to the mind. This challenging class includes all components of fitness training – the pace will rev up the cardiovascular system, the fluidity of the sequences will enhance flexibility, and the controlled stationary holds result in improved total-body strength. Discover how this unique program can be potent adjunct to your traditional Pilates practice

ZEN•GA REFORMER VINYASA I & II

Learn a new approach to the V2 Max® Reformer and ground yourself in the principles of ZEN•GA. In this class clients are introduced to the body's fascia – the unique web of connective tissue that runs throughout our body – while building familiarity and comfort using the equipment for this unique program. You are taken through mindful workouts encompassing the bodies' natural rhythms developing ease and proficiency in movement while stimulating the neuromyofascial web and hydrating the myofascial meridians.

 

ZEN•GA V2 REFORMER VINYASA II & III

Power up your Vinyasa yoga routine and challenge your practice by incorporating the spring-loaded resistance of the V2 Max Reformer. This vibrant, flowing series of movements heightens your own body resistance and engages every muscle to promote core stability, strength and resilience. Whether you are new to yoga or a devoted yogi, you will fall in love with the power and grace that Vinyasa on the Reformer bestows on you.

 

TOTAL BARRE™ PROGRAM

Total Barre Basics I

Derived from Pilates, dance, cardio and strength training, Total Barre™ Basics teaches the foundations through simple movements choreographed to music. Classes progress through various segments focusing on specific areas of the body including abs, buns, arms, legs and core. Each session follows the same format but different exercises are added for variety and challenge. No dance experience required!

 

Total Barre Mobility I

Don't let limited mobility prevent you from participating in one of the hottest trends in fitness. This class focuses on building strength, balance, flexibility and control and is designed specifically for exercisers who may face physical limitations due to injury or other conditions. Motivated by music, flow through blended movements and leave feeling inspired, proud and energized. Great for pre/post-natal clients.

Total Barre Amplified (all levels)

This high-energy, endurance-focused class amps up the intensity by incorporating light props and even more neuromuscular challenge. Balance and strength exercises bump up the calorie-burning effects while clients are led through flowing sequences aimed at keeping the heart rate elevated. For good measure, elements of athletic conditioning have been added to give you a full-body, energy-driven workout that amplify the results.

 

CORE™ ATHLETIC CONDITIONING & PERFORMANCE TRAINING™

CORE INTERVAL TRAINING (ALL LEVELS)

Not suitable for clients with injuries; indoor shoes required.

Expanding on the principles of the STOTT PILATES method, CORE focuses on conditioning & performance using high-intensity interval training. You’ll work the entire body in power-hours utilizing everything from medicine balls to strength tubing and handweights. Interval-style workouts turn on our metabolism for 24 to 48 hours resulting in more calorie burn while activating growth hormone production. These are results-driven sessions for active clients or those looking to really challenge themselves physically.

 

HALO™ PROGRAM

Ultimate Reformer Challenge IV

Not suitable for clients with injuries; indoor shoes required.

This invigorating workout introduces clients to the versatile Halo Trainer: an infinity-shaped frame paired with the Stability Ball™. Halo redefines bodyweight training: using your own bodyweight to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability. Class is high-energy and every muscle group targeted but we make sure to incorporate mind-body fundamentals to maintain that important connection while giving ourselves a break between challenging sets. An excellent complement to our pure Pilates classes; suitable for active clients.


 

EXPRESS CLASSES

25-MIN EXPRESS CLASSES

Hectic lifestyles make it difficult to find the time to care for our mind and body in ways that are meaningful. STOTT PILATES Studio gives you a chance to challenge yourself in effective, 25-minute results-driven express classes before work, over lunch or after you leave the office. Including STOTT PILATES®, Total Barre™, CORE™, ZEN•GA™ and Halo®. Classes are open to all ages and levels; no Pilates experience necessary. FLEXION-FREE CIRCUIT II

This specialized class caters to clients looking for a challenging and varied workout but are faced with exercise restrictions due to joint, bone or spinal conditions. Reduced to three participants, this class looks to challenge core strength while improving local stability and balance in unique ways. Alternating between the Cadillac, Chair, Barrels and Reformers, endurance and stamina are improved while weight-bearing exercises focus on providing a more aligned and balanced body.

 

PRENATAL MINI I

This specialized class caters to expectant moms in their first, second and third trimester. This intimate Pilates-inspired class focuses on maintaining good posture, muscle tone and overall mobility throughout pregnancy. Light resistance equipment is used to improve the sense of well-being and prepare for the exciting time ahead. Groups are kept small to ensure that each expectant mother benefits from close observation and cueing.

 

Mom and Baby Pilates-Barre Fusion

A fitness class dedicated to both mom and babe! Designed for new moms, this class encourages you to move with your baby. A combination of Mat-based STOTT PILATES and Total Barre – this class includes all of the challenge of Pilates with all the energy, movement and music of barre!

Start to re-engage pelvic floor and core muscles while building strength and stamina in the whole body. This energizing workout leaves no muscle ignored and will leave a stronger, more resilient you. Connect with other moms and bond further with baby in our newest circuit series!
