This interactive workshop teaches participants how to challenge clients with maximum safety and effectiveness by taking STOTT PILATES’ Essential Matwork to a higher level of intensity.


Meet Our Presenters

Marshall Eklund

Known for his clinical knowledge, endless humor, and abundant energy, Marshall Eklund earned his first fitness certification and began training clients in 1986. As a pioneer in the fitness industry, Marshall was at the forefront of implementing Pilates training into traditional personal training. Marshall holds a Masters Degree with a special emphasis in Biomechanics and Athletic Training. He has been a STOTT PILATES® Instructor Trainer and Training Licensee since 2002, and owner of Marshall Eklund Pilates since 1998. Featured in San Diego Magazine’s “Best of San Diego,” Marshall divides his time between client assessment, staff development, instructor training, and writing.

Carla Hales

Carla Hales has been a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor Trainer since 1998. She originally taught both internal and external courses out of the STOTT PILATES International Certification Center in Toronto before moving to the San Francisco Bay area. In 2001, she helped establish the STOTT PILATES Northern California Certification Center and directed the education programs there until 2003 when she returned to the Toronto studio. She has assisted with a number of presentations and tradeshows, co-supervised technical direction of several STOTT PILATES videos and is recognized as a continuing education provider for the American Council on Exercise. Carla holds a B.F.A. from York University in Toronto, Canada with affiliated study from Leeds University in London, England and is an ACE certified personal trainer.
