Housing Options

There are a number of housing options available for students attending STOTT PILATES courses. Keep in mind that Toronto is a very accessible city. The streetcar and subway system is a very safe and efficient way to get around. The STOTT PILATES Corporate Training Center is located at Yonge Street, on the corner of Eglinton Avenue, which is considered the beginnings of "North Toronto" or Uptown.

The city is divided into a west end (High Park, Bloor West Village), Midtown (Yonge & Bloor, Yorkville, Annex), Uptown (Yonge & Eglinton, Bayview), east end (Danforth, Riverdale), and downtown (Yonge & Queen] Entertainment District, King & John). Hotels
Although we have not compiled a list of hotels, there is certainly ample choice in Toronto. Two websites offering choice of hotels and accomodation as well as local events, concerts, club and movie listings and more are www.torontotourism.com and www.toronto.com.

Bed & Breakfast inns
There are a number of B&Bs in the area. They cost, on average, about $70 US/day ($75 Cdn). We have compiled a short list of inns that are either located in this area or recommended by our students.

Public Transit
The city is serviced by a comprehensive system of buses, subways and streetcars. Most routes offer service every few minutes. Exact fare is required. A single one-way fare is $3.00. Packages of tokens are available for purchase at subway stations and select stores around town. Also available, day and monthly passes offer additional savings. For transit information including maps and routes, click here.

Airports
Toronto is served by two airports.

Lester B. Pearson International Airport is located approximately 30 to 45 minutes from central Toronto by car, dependent on traffic and time of day. Taxis from the airport into the city cost approx $40 to $60 plus tip dependent on zone and distance traveled, find rates posted at the airport.

The Airport Express Shuttle, are large comfy coaches available for approx $17, and will drop you off at one of several downtown hotels adjacent to the subway. They run every 40 minutes between 4:15am and 11:10pm. Call 905-564-6333 or 905-564-3232 for more info.

If you're on a tight budget, consider taking a city bus called the 192 Airport Rocket from Terminal One to the Kipling Subway Station. Your $3 fare buys you a transfer that you can use to continue your trip on the subway and bus system. Buses leave every 10-15 minutes and only make two stops between the airport to the subway making the ride fairly quick and efficient. See www3.ttc.ca.

Another option is to rent a car. You can pick up and drop off a vehicle at any of the six on-site rental agencies right at Toronto Pearson International Airport. Car rental counters are on Level 1 of the parking garages adjacent to both terminals. To make reservations, or learn more, please contact car rental agencies directly.

City Centre Airport is conveniently located 10 minutes from downtown Toronto on a small island in Lake Ontario, and services shuttle flights from nearby Canadian cities and a few American locations. Free bus/ferry service will take you into the city and drop you off at the Royal York Hotel adjacent to the subway. Taxis are also available at the ferry landing. Inquire with your airline whether arriving at this airport is an option.
