This interactive workshop teaches participants select exercises from the STOTT PILATES® Essential Matwork repertoire with emphasis on the goals of the exercises, movement
patterns, breath patterns and correct alignment. Cues and corrections for safety and effectiveness are also covered.

Essential to Intermediate Matwork

PREREQUISITE: STOTT PILATES® Essential Matwork Workshop and/or
previous experience teaching or studying Pilates Matwork exercise.

This interactive workshop teaches participants select exercises from the STOTT PILATES® Essential and Intermediate Matwork repertoire. For participants already familiar with basic Matwork exercises, this workshop illustrates how to progress to more complex and intense intermediate-level skills, challenging strength, flexibility and coordination, with emphasis
on the goals of the exercises, movement patterns, breath patterns and correct alignment.
Cues and corrections for safety and effectiveness are also covered.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Apply principles of the STOTT PILATES® method to select Matwork exercises.

Understand how metabolic rate can be increased through Matwork.

Learn simple movement sequences that build in intensity.

Create variety and challenge while focusing on alignment and movement quality.

Intensifying Essential Matwork

PREREQUISITE: STOTT PILATES® Essential Matwork Workshop and/or
previous experience teaching or studying Pilates Mat exercise.

This interactive workshop teaches participants how to challenge clients with maximum safety
and effectiveness by taking STOTT PILATES’® Essential Matwork to a higher level of intensity. Participants will learn how to add variety and increase the pace of the workout to improve muscular endurance and core stability, without sacrificing control and quality. Cues and corrections for safety and effectiveness are also covered.
